Review of the 49th workshop of the Scientific Commission on Organization (WK ORG)
From the March 13 – 14, 2025 the 49th WK ORG workshop was held at the University of Witten/Herdecke on the topic of “Organization and Democracy”.
The IAW was represented by Uta Wilkens and Daniel Lupp, who presented the paper “Responsible AI in C-level suites – scenarios of AI decision-making and corresponding ethical approaches”. The qualitative interview study on the decision-making behaviour of C-level managers in the responsible use of artificial intelligence in organizations was discussed constructively in the plenary session. This provided valuable input for the further development of the article. In addition, Uta Wilkens moderated a sub-session with exciting contributions on topics such as social impact, sustainability and agility.
In addition, the WK ORG young talent workshop enriched the exchange with the main topic “Book writing: Between Impact and Irrelevance”. An exciting panel discussion on “Organization and Democracy: Science, Politics and Practice in Exchange” rounded off the event with inspiring contributions from science, politics and practice. We can look back on a successful conference and are already looking forward to next year’s event!
